Okay, I have experimented with homemade powder laundry soap.  That last batch I made I used fals naphtha but I found it hard to shred. A friend of mine suggested I try Zote Soap. It's great, soft and easy to shred. So much so that I used my tiny shredder (you know that one for chocolate).  Plus 1 14 oz bar (.97 cents for one bar) verses 3 5 0z bars at Walmart ( .97 cents each x 3 = 2.91).  Anyway, I also was using the downey scent booster ( I love that stuff)...Well this time I decided to actually mix the scent booster in with my laundry soap.  Love my laundry soap, cleans and smells good too. This is a winner!

Great Homemade Powder Laundry Soap

Powdered Laundry Soap I box of borax I box of Washing Soda (not baking soda) 1 tub of Oxi Clean 1 bottle of scent booster (any kind) 1 bar of zote soap (or 3 bars of false naphtha - I prefer the zote soap, much softer and easier to shred) Shred soap, mix all ingredients together. Optional - place about 3 cups at a time into a blender and blend till you have a nice fine powder. Continue until all has been blended Pin It

So my friend had a birthday yesterday and I found some Ideas that I wanted to do for her birthday gift. I made the cutest (well at least I think it is cute) little tin box to carry in her purse for an emergency chocolate fix.  I used an altoid tin box, used my digital scrapbooking skills and printed out a design on my computer using sticky paper and filled with little candy bars.  Take a look:

They are really easy and a lot of fun to make....now if only I had more altoid tin boxs...LOL Pin It

Wow, Amazing Cleaner for Soap Scum and Hard Water

I am amazed at the stuff I just used to clean the soap scum and hard water spots of my glass shower doors (actually the whole shower and tub too). I have tried so many different store bought and homemade cleaners and nothing worked very well. So I was skeptical when I saw on another blog another way to clean it....but I figured why not I will give it a try however, didnt really expect great results. Boy was I pleasently surprised. Yep, this one worked and not only did it work but everything shines and looks almost brand new. It is so simple and easy. Here it is:

Soap Scum and hard water spot remover/cleaner
1 cup of white vinegar heated up ( I heated mine in the microwave)
1 cup of Dawn dishsoap (they said to use the blue but but I only had the orange one so thats what I used)

Thats it, after you heat the vinegar pour it into a spray bottle then add the dawn dishsoap and shake a bit to mix. Spray all over, includeing fixtures, wait at least two hours then rinse off.  Yes, there will be lots of suds to rinse but its so worth all the rinsing. You will be amazed. I wish I had taken before and after pictures to put up. Apparently the reason for the dishsoap is to help the vinegar stay where you spray it so it can eat away at the soapscum.  Try it, I think you will be glad that you did!

Home From Vacation

Got home yesterday from vacation. Although I enjoy going on vacation and have a lot of fun it's always nice coming home.  Home Sweet Home, nothing like coming home to my very own little place in the world. I am so blessed to have such a lovely place to call my own (with my husband of course), a big nice comfy bed to sleep in and plenty of food in cupboards and fridge (although after returning from vacation it's evident that I need to go grocery shopping). Too many times we often complain about  the smallest of things in our lives but if you  look around you will see how truly blessed you are.  Thank you God for all that you have blessed me with!!!! End of the semster

It's hard to believe that the end of this semester is almost here.  Just one more week of classes. I am looking forward to summer vacation. No classes, no schedules, no school work. I have several projects that I hope to accomplish this summer and am anxious to get started.

Life is good! There are times in life when it seems that the storms and trials we are facing will never end but Im hear to tell you that on the othere side there is always the radiant sunshine. If you keep perserving and dont give up you will get to the other side. At that point you can look back and thank God that he walked with you through it and led you out!!! Indeed Life is good
